Christmas in Puerto Rico

Christmas in Puerto Rico is the most expected holiday by all Puertorricans. Family and friends gather together to share their cheerful moments.
The houses are decorated with Christmas lights and drawings. And inside the home is the Christmas tree with gifts underneath. You wait until midnight to open their gifts and play with them until dawn.
Our Christmas Dinner
Dinner consists of rice with pigeon peas, cakes, sausage, cuajitos, guineitos salcochados, and sweet rice, among others. Our table is decorated with nuts, nougat, biscuits, guava paste, fruit, and a drink called coquito.
Festivals and Parrandas
It’s the time of the year that factories, businesses and shops give their annual bonuses and parties, to theirs’ administrators, managers and employees.
And about the Parrandas, which occur at any time and at any time, playing and singing Music Christmas.
Arrival of the New Year
Everyone is waiting for midnight on December 31 to receive the New Year. Fireworks were thrown and congratulated each other. Wishing peace and love with new resolutions.
Three Kings Day
On January 6 is celebrated on the Day of the Magic, or the date on which years of a box filled with grass or herb. The grass is for the camel and the Magic were responsible for letting a little gift to the children.
